How to Grow Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes are easy to grow. Not only can you eat the tubers, but you can also eat the greens!
What You'll Need
Sweet potatoes
Jar with water
3 twigs or toothpicks
Instructions [Video link coming soon]
1. Place twigs or toothpicks around sweet potato to be able to suspend it in the jar.
Place in jar and add water to about half way.
2. Put on a windowsill or a sunny location so that it will begin to root and grow slips. (Can take up to 1 month or more)

3. Wait until the slips are 6 inches long, pluck off and place in another jar to begin rooting.

<These are obviously longer than 6 inches!>
4. Once the roots are at least 2" long, transplant in a pot or your garden.

5. Let them grow until the leaves start turning yellow or 120 days.
6. Harvest and cure (more on that coming later)

This was our harvest from 2020. We only used three sweet potatoes and got all of this!
For this year we are planning on trying 4 different varieties: Japanese, Purple, Orange, and Red
